Santa Cruz Island Reserve

ARC is a 40-day literacy and leadership program for English Language Learner student. The program is based out of the Sedgwick Reserve. While at the island, the students will be supervised by adults at all times. They will participate in a physical fitness class at 6:30 a.m., Environmental Science from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and English from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. They will cook their own meals at 7:15 a.m., 11;30 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. There is a student-lead evening meeting each night. There should not be any conflicts with any other groups -- our meal schedule can be flexible to accommodate others, and we can use outdoor space and indoor space for the academic classes. There will not be any research conducted on the reserve and there should be no impact to the reserve.
