Santa Cruz Island Reserve

With two or three graduate students I will visit Punta Arena to determine the feasibility of a dissertation research project at the archaeological site there. We will also visit an archaeological site on the southwestern coast of the island, between the mouths of Pozo and Alegria canyons, where we will collect small samples from midden deposits exposed by erosion. This investigation is related to long-term research aimed at ascertaining variation in the prehistoric use of marine resources.
