Tentative schedule for trip (used on 2002 NGS trip to Reserve Station): Oct. 22 10 a.m. Arrive Prisoner's Harbor 10-11:30 a.m. Unload gear and passengers on to island via skiff/load gear and group into UC Reserve Vehicles/hike to station 11:30-noon Get settled at UC Reserve Station Noon-12:45 p.m. Lunch 1-1:15 p.m. Orientation 1:30-3 p.m. Tour of main ranch and chapel 3-5 p.m. Short hike/flora and fauna intro 5:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner 6:30-8 p.m. Overview of Santa Cruz Island Oct. 23 7-8 a.m. Breakfast 8-8:15 a.m. Pre-day activities briefing 8:15-10:45 a.m. Drive to West End/Christy's Beach (discuss geology, flora, and fauna on drive) 10:45-12:15 p.m. Rocky Intertidal Intro. 12:15-1 p.m. Lunch 1-2:30 p.m. Sandy Beach Habitat Exploration 2:30 - 5 p.m. Drive back to Reserve Station 5:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sanctuary and resource management overview Oct. 24 7-8 a.m. Breakfast/pack 8-9 a.m. Transport gear/participants to Prisoner's Harbor 9-9:30 a.m. Meet kayak guide/divide group to hike/kayak 9:30-11:30 a.m. Group 1 Kayak/Group 2 Prisoner's to Pelican Hike 11:30-noon Lunch Noon-2 p.m. Group 2 kayak/Group 1 hike 2-2:30 p.m. Prepare for boat pick-up/skiff transport to boat 3 p.m. Depart Prisoner's Harbor, SCI on board the Islander
