Santa Cruz Island Reserve

We will be hiking areas that island foxes are thought to be in high density collecting faecal samples. Our focus will be the west end and between the field station and prisoner's harbor. Faecal samples will be collected and placed in containers containing alcohol. The samples will then be taken back to UCLA for Molecular analysis. This is a preliminary study determining the feasibility of monitoring the population growth rates noninvasively.
