Students will bike to the first turn out on the right at slough road. They will spend 40 minutes 3 times a week doing targeted collections for Coccinellidae but more broadly Coleopterans when they cannot distinguish. Specimens will be collected via insect nets, hand collection and aspirators. Specimens will be stored in vials with 70% ethanol and then put in a freezer until they are pinned for identification and organization. All specimens will be cataloged and incorporated into the UCSB Natural History Museum as a teaching collection.
