Coal Oil Point Natural Reserve

To train 18 teachers and 6 volunteers on the content and application of MERITO Foundation's curricula (MERITO Academy and EECCOA) to increase their capacity to teach Earth, ocean and climate science to their students. Also to train them on application of citizen science techniques using mobile app and pedagogical science equipment. We will do most of the training at UCSB West conference room, but would like to take the teachers to the tide pools, beach and walk by slough to teach about native plans and plant phenology for a couple of hours on Friday Feb. 3. We originally scheduled to go to Santa Cruz Is. for this training but it has been canceled due to rain. We already worked >100 hours preparing this training and purchased materials.
