Tetiaroa Society Ecostation

We will compile a comprehensive infrared aerial image coverage of the atoll. We will establish ground-based reference points to develop spectral signatures of the dominant vegetation types on the atoll. We will then download the aerial image data and reference point data into a GIS for the atoll. The data will be analyzed to determine spectral signatures representing the plant communities on the atoll, rendering a vegetation classification system and maps of the plant communities.
