Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve

This project is intended to provide information on the relative abundance, community composition and size/age structure of the fish assemblage in Big Chico Creek within the boundaries of the Ecological Reserve. Though some information regarding the fish community within the reserve exists, no abundance surveys have been conducted in recent years, making it impossible to assess changes to fish populations over time. This project aims to fill this knowledge gap, and re-establish a temporally continuous record (annual surveys) of fish abundance that will ultimately allow for identification of potential species specific population trends (over the course of several years).
