I am planning on coming to the Gump Station in Moorea to attend the Tetiaroa Scientific Advisory Board meeting all day Monday November 10th and continue through the day on Tuesday 11th. I would like to continue discussing Moorea-Tetiaroa Avatars as potentially the big overarching idea that Tetiaroa Society should get behind (and help fundraise for) as a "Network of Networks" proof of concept for comparing Coral Reef Ecosystems. We will be discussing future funding for this project. While visiting, I also plan to visit the Tetiaroa Ecostation with s student, Shawn Luttrell, who studies hemichordate regeneration. We would like to do an initial assessment of the invertebrates on Tetiaroa and whether they are capable of whole body regeneration or not. I would also like to explore the possibility of establishing a major coral reef semester/s (Moorea/Tetiaroa) with UW, MBL, (other) as a collaboration with UC. I am very excited about these possibilities!!
