Elliott Chaparral Reserve

We will park outside of the second gate (past the animal care facility). We will run transects 1) from the road south into the vegetation and 2) up the slope east of the water line road. We will 1)conduct sweep net sample of insects in the vegetation, 2)sample ants using "pecan sandies" bait, 3) remove 10 cm by 10 cm vegetation samples - clipping all vegetation. Twelve 50 - 100 m transects will be run, with 5 sample points along each transect. Approximately 5-10 student vehicles will be parked on site - I do not have their license plate numbers.
